BREC Highland Rd Archery Range to be decommissioned and used as Dog Park (United States)

On January 17, 2008 and April 28, 2008 BREC held two meetings for plans in which to rebuild Highland Rd Park. In these plans they intend to decommission the Archery Range in favor of a Dog park.

I live minutes from this location and visit this park once or twice a week to utilize this archery range. This would be a sad loss for our hobby and passion if this range were to be decommissioned. If this information has not already been made available to this community then use the below information to contact BREC officials and ask them to reconsider their plans and maintain this range.

Stuckey,you are absolutly correct. I talked with Dan Hebert272-9200 an assistant director about this. He

said the range would be moved to Waddill WMA on North Flannery. He suggested that we as ARCHERS

should send e-mails to BREC.org web site. The link is at bottom of www.brec.org home page.....e-mail

brec. If you use the Highland Road range you should mail a suggestion to relocate range to Burbank Soccer

Park.......plenty room there. If we don't put a little pressure on them we have no chance of saving

the range for south end of E.B.R. parish residents.
